Cast-iron railings, erected c.1920, set on rubble sandstone wall with dressed limestone coping. Forming retaining wall for footpath at the base of Blair’s Hill.
These railings, plinth and wall are significant contributors to the architectural heritage of the city. Surviving street features such as these are increasingly threatened by replacement. They once formed part of a paving scheme, though much of the related paving and kerbing have been removed and replaced with concrete.
