Gateway, c.1850, comprising pair of (truncated) squared rubble limestone piers with inscribed benchmark to base, capping removed, and wrought iron double gates. Road fronted.
The remains of a simple gateway of primary significance for the presence of an inscribed benchmark having historic associations with cartography and the preparation of maps by the Ordnance Survey.
