Tooled limestone plinth wall, installed c.1870, comprising diminishing rubble stone wall to side (north) of pathway, surmounted by round-headed tooled-limestone coping stones having in-filled sockets indicating location of now absent cast-iron railings to eastern end.

An unusual tooled limestone plinth wall which would have assisted in guiding the wheels of horse drawn carts away from the footpath. It makes a curious and interesting addition to the streetscape.
