Gallow Cairn

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Gallow Cairn as Cairn (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Gallow Cairn is a Neolithic chambered cairn, typically dating to the 4th to 3rd millennia BCE. Such cairns are significant as early communal burial sites and reflect the complex social and ritual practices of Neolithic communities in Scotland.
