Half-buried in the green silence of the Glanmore valley, Gallauns holds three heavy slabs at right angles, leaning together like a corner of a forgotten room. Mountains watch from every side while gorse and grass creep across the stones, waiting to swallow the last of their shape.

In level pasture, on the valley floor of the Glanmore River and overlooked by mountains. This megalithic structure consists of three slabs (Slab 1: 2.24m x 1.26m; T 0.27m; Slab 2: 1.82m x 1.78m; T 0.16m; Slab 3: 1.26m x 0.87m; T 0.3m) which are at right angles to each other. The slabs lean against each other and against a smaller slab (1.25m x 1m; T 0.24m) which lies almost prostrate on the ground beneath. Another slab (1.35m x 0.4m) lies prostrate and partially hidden by gorse-covered sod, 0.45m to the NW. Miscellaneous smaller stones are scattered and embedded in the immediate area. A standing stone (KE111-006002-) lies c. 2.5m to the SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
