What is recorded here
Gallaun is a 3.43-metre standing stone in Glanleam, County Kerry, whose base is packed with stones and whose south-eastern face is braced by a leaning slab. It stands inside the later earthwork called Cromwell's Fort on the Iveragh Peninsula, so the old upright and the newer enclosure belong to different ages yet share one address. The stone still points toward Mangerton Mountain through rough pasture, carrying the fort's name while refusing to explain itself.
