What is recorded here

Gallaun is a tall standing stone in County Kerry that predates the later Cromwellian fort surrounding it by millennia. The stone reached 3.43 metres, stood aligned north-east to south-west, and still rises beside the earthwork despite once being easy to shake. Its base was packed with stones and a slab now leans against it, as if the land itself learned how to hold what time kept loosening.

In rough grassland with commanding views in every direction. Triangular stone aligned NE-SW (H 0.88m; 1.2m x 0.5m).
