What is recorded here

Gallaun was a standing stone beside a cliff-edge fort in County Kerry, recorded on the 1846 map but now vanished. It may have marked a boundary, a burial or a warning to sailors, yet even its shadow has left the rock. The sea took back what the land borrowed, leaving only a name and a hole in the world.

The name 'Gallaun' is indicated on the 1846 OS 6-inch map immediately to the E of a cliff-edge fort (KE058-043001-). There are no visible remains of this standing stone.
