What is recorded here

Gallaun is a tall standing stone in Glanleam, County Kerry, trapped inside a much younger fort called Cromwell's Fort. The stone predates the fort by millennia, forcing the fortress to share its footprint with an older claim on the land. A leaning slab now braces what Chatterton found shaking in 1839, turning a prehistoric marker into a patched-up survivor of human impatience.
