Gallan is a rectangular standing stone in County Cork, Ireland, aligned north-south and rising 0.86 metres beside an ancient enclosure. It is not a towering monument but a compact witness, perhaps marking a boundary, a memory or a ceremony now lost. People may have gathered there in seasons when the land felt alive, speaking to forces no longer named.
