What is recorded here

Gallán is a two-metre rectangular standing stone on a Cork ridge, visible east and west along the top. It is not a random rock because packing stones still cluster at its base, proving someone lifted and set it deliberately. The absent map marking does not erase the ridge or the stone; it only preserves the surprise of finding a forgotten marker still watching the horizon.

Not shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map. On top of E-W ridge with view E and W along ridge. Stone (H 2m; 1.35m x 0.5m) is rectangular in plan, with packing stones exposed at base; long axis N-S.
