What is recorded here

Gallán was a single standing stone in County Cork, marked on the 1940 map but absent from earlier surveys, now removed without visible trace. Its sudden appearance and disappearance suggest human hands shaped its visibility rather than nature. Perhaps people moved it when it stopped serving their purposes, leaving behind only the name and a hollow place in the landscape.
