Gallán is a subrectangular standing stone in County Cork, Ireland, rising 1.95 metres within a field fence on an NE-facing slope. It resisted capture on both the 1842 and 1903 OS 6-inch maps, remaining hidden from official record despite its clear presence in the pasture. The stone may have marked a boundary, a burial, or a promise made under open sky, yet no human name remains attached to it. Its continued invisibility to surveyors suggests it belongs more to memory than to measurement.
