Gallán is a rectangular standing stone in County Cork, Ireland, rising 1.63 metres on a west-facing pasture slope. It escaped notice on both the 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps, hiding in plain sight among grass and shadow. Its long axis points east-west, like a quiet arrow thrown across the land. Perhaps it marked a boundary, a burial, or a promise forgotten by everyone but the stone itself.
