Gallán is a subrectangular standing stone beside a farm laneway in County Cork, Ireland. It stands 0.82m tall with a 0.33m by 0.22m base, its long axis pointing north-south. The stone has resisted mapping, absent from both 1842 and 1903 surveys, suggesting human tendency to overlook what does not fit expectations. A subrectangular shape beside an ordinary laneway may have marked a boundary, a memorial or a place of quiet attention.
