Gallán is a square standing stone leaning east on a Cork pasture slope, overlooking the Owenbaun River valley. It stands 1.35 metres tall with a 0.6 metre base, tilted slightly toward the rising sun. The stone has watched river mist climb the valley and shadow shift across the grass for generations. People may have gathered there to mark seasons, honor ancestors or simply witness the sky change. Its lean gives it life, as if listening rather than waiting.
