What is recorded here

Gallán is a leaning standing stone in rough Cork pasture, tall enough to touch but small enough to overlook. It tilts east beside two quieter stones, marking a ridge no human hand built for show. Perhaps people once walked past it without naming it, or named it only when the light struck its edge.

Not marked on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. In rough pasture, on crest of low hill. Stone (H 1.15m; 1.35m x 0.75m) is subrectangular in plan and shape, leaning heavily to E; long axis NE-SW. One of a group of three standing stones (10002, 10003). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
