Gallan stands as a vanished Ogham stone, once set in a Cork pasture beside a graveyard before removal erased it from the living landscape. Macalister measured its reddish clay slate at four feet three inches tall and read DOCRANORI across its worn south face, capturing a name that may have marked a dead person, a family line or a forgotten claim. The stone’s disappearance does not diminish the fact that it stood, bore marks and entered human memory; it simply returns that memory to imagination.

Formerly in pasture, on a S-facing slope, c. 100m NE of a graveyard (CO066-025001-), but now removed. Described by Macalister (1945, 65, no. 62) as reddish clay slate (H 4ft 3in; 2ft 4in x 10in) with an inscription on the dexter angle of the S face, very worn. Read tentatively by him as DOCRANORI.
