What is recorded here

Gallán was a single standing stone in County Cork, marked on the 1938 map but absent from earlier surveys, now removed without visible trace. It may have stood as a boundary, a memorial or a marker for seasonal work, yet human hands cleared it from the land. The disappearance does not diminish the place; it sharpens the mystery of what was worth remembering and what was forgotten.
