Gallán is a standing stone in County Kerry, Ireland. It rises 2.1 metres beside a football pitch, marking the edge of ordinary play. Children may have run past it for generations, treating the stone as a permanent witness rather than a sacred relic. Grass-cuttings still pile against its base, burying part of its shape in green waste. The stone does not complain. It stands in North-South alignment, steady while the pitch around it changes with seasons, matches and forgotten lives.

In a football pitch. The stone (dims. 1.47m x 0.85m; H 2.1m) is rectangular in plan and irregular in shape and orientated N-S. Grass-cuttings from the football pitch have been piled against the S and E faces of the stone.
