Gallán is a flat-topped standing stone in County Cork, Ireland, rising 1.8m through rough grazing with an irregular plan and a long axis pointing northeast to southwest. It may have marked a boundary, honoured a dead person, or simply watched sheep move across open land. Whatever it did, it still does it, unchanged while the grass and sky turn over it.
