Gallán stood eight feet high on a NE-facing Cork slope, thick enough to swallow two men whole. It vanished around 1984, leaving behind only a gap where the stone had been. Broker wrote it down in 1937, but the land kept its own secret until the men came with tools. What they took, they never returned.

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. In pasture, on NE-facing slope. One of four monuments (6460; 6648; CO048-02503-) in close proximity to one another. Removed c. 1984. Broker (1937, 30) recorded 'Gallan 8ft high and thicker than two men'. Probably the same stone. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
