What is recorded here

Gallan stood six feet tall on a sunny Cork slope, watching the ringfort until men threw it down and buried the local landmark in ordinary soil. Broker recorded the loss in 1937, preserving the shape of what vanished rather than pretending the stone still stood. That sudden disappearance turns a familiar field into a place where human arrogance, not time, erased the witness.

In pasture, on S-facing slope c. 50m W of ringfort (8124). Removed; Broker(1937, 30) recorded 'gallan 6ft H, 3 or 4 ft in girth, thrown down and buried where it fell'.
