Gallan is an irregular standing stone in West Cork, aligned northwest to southeast and overlooking Inchidoney Bay. It rises 1.65 metres from pasture soil, broad enough at its base to suggest a person once leaned against it or measured shadow across it. The bay below has witnessed every storm and tide since the stone was set, while Gallan remains the only witness that cannot leave.
