Gallan is a two-metre rectangular standing stone in West Cork pasture, aligned northeast to southwest above the Fealge River valley. It is not a vague heap or buried wonder; it is a visible marker in an open rural landscape. The valley beneath it has carried water, life and memory for generations, while Gallan remains upright in the pasture like a forgotten point on an old line.
