What is recorded here

Gallán was a thin standing stone, four feet high and six feet three inches wide, buried beneath Cork forestry instead of marked on early maps. Condon may have mistaken its place, dropping it into West Knocknagoun while listing local stones. The error does not diminish it; it suggests Gallán resisted easy classification even before disappearing from human sight.

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. Shown as single standing stone on 1940 OS 6-inch map. Area now in forestry; no visible surface trace. Possibly stone mistakenly placed in West Knocknagoun by Condon (1916, 156, no. 157). 'It is 4 feet high, 6 feet 3 inches wide, and 5 inches thick'.
