Gallán is a 1.3m standing stone in County Cork pasture, tilted ENE-WSW on a SW-facing slope. It escaped the 1842 survey, hiding in plain sight among grass and shadow. People may have passed it for centuries, reading markers in its angle or forgetting it entirely. The stone remains steady while memory waxes and wanes around it.
