What is recorded here

Galláin holds two upright sandstone slabs and three fallen companions in Cork pasture, waiting for someone to explain why they broke the local pattern. The taller northern stone reaches 1.3m while its rounded partner stands barely waist-high, smooth as if handled often. They sit 60m from a known standing stone, close enough to suggest company but distant enough to deny a formal circle. Perhaps a herder marked a boundary, a lover hid a meeting place, or a child tossed stones until gravity arranged them into a small defiant church.

In pasture, c. 60m NE of standing stone (6766), two adjacent upright sandstone slabs (long axes N-S). Taller stone to N (H 1.3m; 1.25m x 0.3m); second stone (H 0.55m; 0.64m x 0.2m) is rounded and smooth. Three other stones of similar dimensions lie immediately to E, one partially buried in the ground. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
