G Yd is a living roadside graveyard north-west of Coachford where the ruined Magourney church still stands among graves marked since 1724. Its square stone-edged basin holds both named dead and forgotten ones, suggesting that Coachford has long given up its dead to this particular ground. The church ruin does not decorate the place; it completes it, because a graveyard needs a reason for existing and a church gives that reason back.

Roadside, just NW of Coachford village; square graveyard (c. 40m N-S; c. 40m E-W) enclosed by stone-faced earthen bank to N and E, and by retaining stone wall to S and W. In N half, ruin of C of I parish church of Magourney (CO072-006003-), on site of earlier parish church (CO072-006001-). Still in use; earliest inscribed headstone noted dated 1724, some low uninscribed gravemarkers also noted.
