Fulachta Fiadh in County Cork, Ireland, is one of three linked sites where hot stones and water may have prepared food, bathed tired bodies or marked a boundary in the landscape. The burnt spread still lies in rough grazing, waiting for someone to walk its edge and imagine the steam rising at dusk.
