In boggy ground. Hartnett (1939, 183) noted a fulacht fiadh 'horse-shoeshaped with the opening to the north-west. On removal of the turf-layer, black burned stones were found'. Now levelled due to drainage works. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
