Hot stones, lifting water into steam, marked that field before houses or roads arrived. Paddy Healy dug two fulacht fia sites in Castle Farm in 1990, freeing them from a housing development. They sit east of Kituc Church, waiting to be imagined: people beside burning wood, water shaking into white air, food or baths or ceremony emerging from the heat.
