What is recorded here
No amount of twisting or inventing can make that claim true.
A possible fulacht fiadh was noted to the SE of the bridge straddling the townland boundary between Newtown (Beagh ED) and Castlequarter (pers. comm. T. Coffey 1985). A large area was field walked and the area to the N of the bridge was also checked out but no visible surface trace of a fulacht fia was visible. Not precisely located.
