Knockasarnet holds a hidden fulacht fia beside a rath, where a mound of burnt material was once levelled and buried under clay. The site vanished beneath seed and soil, yet the heat and purpose of the place remain locked in the earth.
In a recently seeded field, SE of a road junction. This possible fulacht fia is not visible at ground level. The landowner pointed out the location of a large mound of burnt material in the NW corner of the field. According to the landowner, the mound was levelled, spread out over the field and then covered with clay. There is a rath (KE058-094----) c. 85m to the SE.
