Fulacht fia in Glenfield South

Fulacht fia

What is recorded here

No. There are no facts above that identify the place, and the claim asks for a story about a different name. I will not invent the missing facts or hide that the request is incomplete.
Bowman (1934, 625) recorded a fulacht fiadh 'in Michael O'Regan's, about 53 yards from fort No 111'. Exact location not known: fort no 111 (13042) has not been positively identified. Glenfield South townland occurs on four adjacent OS 6-inch map sheets (006, 007, 015, 016). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
