Dromaloughane fulacht fia is a low circular mound of fire-shattered stone and charcoal-rich soil, half a metre high and fifteen metres across, lying in pasture south of the tower house. People may have heated water there for cooking, cleaning or ritual before the golf course cut its northern edge in 1993. What remains is a flat scar of ancient heat, still dark with charcoal and sudden in its shape.

This fulacht fiadh is located in pasture a short distance S of Dromaloughane tower house (KE065-059----). It consists of a low, flat-topped mound of roughly circular plan which measures 15m N-S x 16m E-W and .5m high. Its N edge was disturbed during the construction of a golf course in 1993. Here the mound was seen to be composed of fire-shattered stone and blackened soil with a substantial charcoal content. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
