On poorly drained S facing slope of rising ground in upland area. Grass covered horseshoe-shaped mound (Wth 8m; H 1.7m) of burnt material with central hollow depression (Wth 3.5m) open to S where field fence intersects site. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
