Fulacht fia in Creevagh (burren By.)

On uneven, overgrown ground in the narrow ENE-WSW orientated Glencurran canyon, at the base of the canyon’s quite steep N side and with a spring immediately to the E. This large fulacht fia (23m N-S; 18m E-W) comprises a grass-covered, horseshoe-shaped bank (Wth 6-7m; int. H 1-2m; ext. H 1.7-min. 2m) of burnt stone and ash which is open to the N, against the canyon side. There are some very large stones embedded in the bank, and it is heavily overgrown at the N. The interior space is generally flat and marshy. There is a cashel (CL010-047014-) c. 57m to the NW and a hut site (CL010-278----) c. 100m to the SW.
