The precise location of possible cooking sites or burnt mounds within the townland of Barrow have not been identified. Described by O'Kelly (1954, 151) as 'Several mounds of what are called ''fulacht fiansa'', said to exist in the sandhills at Fenit end of Barrow strand'.
