What is recorded here

In pasture, c. 100m W of a bog and surrounded by rushes. A low kidney-shaped mound (7m N-S; 6m E-W; H 0.4m) of heat-shattered stones in a matrix of charcoal-rich soil. There is a shallow indentation on the E side marked by a growth of rushes and the top of the mound is flat. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
