Former Camlin Fairy Fort / Bregina — Report the wrong picture

Bregina held a thirty-five-foot circular fort on a Donegal drumlin, but no trace of that earth or fence remains visible today. It may have joined two neighbouring rings into a small complex where people lived, guarded or gathered before the land changed. The fairy label suggests humans once credited the site with more life than reason, and that belief may have helped the memory survive long after the dirt vanished.

Internal diam. 35ft. No trace of this monument survives. Previous surveys indicate that it consisted of a level circular area surrounded by an earthen bank 3ft high with a fosse 8ft wide and 1ft deep interrupted by a 6ft wide causeway which led to an entrance gap in the bank on the E side. It was situated on top of a drumlin called Bregina and may have formed part of a three-earthwork complex along with (DG107-071) and (DG107-070).
