Ford in Bellanamullia (athlone South By.) is a ford in Bellanamullia (athlone South By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. J. O' Donovan wrote in the 1830s that Beal Atha na mBuille means the mouth of the ford of strokes. He suspected a battle occurred there but found no reference to one.
According to J. O' Donovan writing in the 1830s (O'Flanagan 1931, vol. 1, 29) Beal Atha na mBuille is 'the mouth of the ford of strokes'. He thinks there may have been a battle here, but can find no reference to one. The ford is not identified, although it is likely to have been on the stream close to the mill (RO051-019----).
