What is recorded here

Causeways across the River Shannon at Ballyleague were constructed in AD 1000 by Mael Seachnaill, King of Midhe, and also by Cathal Ua Conchobhair (AFM; A. Clon. sub 994; Bradley et al. 1985b, 25). Their exact location is unknown, although they were probably replaced by later bridges (see RO037-005----). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 10 May, 2012
