An octagonal white limestone font from 1684 stands inside the 1852 Cashel chapel of ease, its grey slate shaft joining the symmetrically moulded basin and base. The chamber has therefore carried water, prayer and memory across generations, while the old stone waited patiently for new hands.

In Cashel chapel of ease, built in 1852 (Rowan 1979, 221) is a font, 1.05m high, dated 1684. The octagonal basin and base of white limestone are symmetrically moulded; the octagonal shaft is of grey slate. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
