Flat Crags is a sea cliff composed of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340 to 320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. It is notable for its relatively flat upper surface, which may reflect past glacial or erosional processes, and for contributing to the distinctive coastal landscape of the Westmorland and Furness area.
