What is recorded here

Athenry was a young Norman military base in hostile Gaelic territory when Toirrdhealbhach Ua Conchobhair and Aedh Ua Conchobhair attacked on 15 August 1249. Jordan de Exeter refused a festival-day truce, marched out in mail, and routed the Connacht army. The annals credit the Virgin Mary for the sudden dismay that broke the Irish charge, while naming several slain chiefs.
First Battle of Athenry is a battle in County Galway, Ireland.
