Molten gold and medieval fire both belonged to Ballyaghagan before memory faded. A woman may have fastened a golden disk at her throat while children watched a hearth throw shadows across the wall. The field kept both truths, waiting for a spoon or shovelful to release what it had hidden since the Bronze Age and again through the Middle Ages.
