Death and dinner share one hole at The Tree Islands. A horse skeleton lies beside medieval pottery, suggesting people ate, drank and remembered together before forgetting the shape of the meeting. Ballynaleney keeps that much of the world intact: a strong back, broken cups and the end of a life well fed.
