What is recorded here
On E slopes of Knockacarrigeen Hill. Aerial reconnaissance in July 1967 (CUCAP ATF 20) revealed a series of grassed-over stone walls covering an area c. 300m N-S by c. 250m E-W. No coherent pattern is apparent but a number of curvilinear field boundaries and small rectilinear enclosures were visible. Not visited.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
