What is recorded here

In gently undulating and generally level pasture, with moderate views in all directions. Monument adjoins the townland boundary with Kildonnell to W. Enclosure (LI022-152----) 200m to SSW. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as a roughly triangular-shaped area covering approx. 2.6 ha and comprising of intersecting linear cropmarks and some forming rectilinear-shapes, on Bruff Survey aerial photographs (Bruff 113: AP4/3648). Monument surveyed in 2000 by the ASI and described as irregular undulations across this area, which do not form any coherent pattern visible at ground level. Monument is visible as intersecting linear cropmarks forming a field pattern, on Digital Globe orthophotos taken 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages taken 06/02/2018. There are faint traces of other linear cropmarks adjoining to SW which may suggest that the field system extends in this direction. See attached Bruff Survey aerial photograph and Google Earth orthoimage Compiled by: Alison McQueen and Vera Rahilly Date of upload: 16 August 2020
